우리나라 주요 양념채소 중의 하나인 고추는 농업과 식품산업에 중요한 역할을 하고 있음에도 최근소비 감소 등으로 인한 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 국산 고추의 상당 부분을 소비하는 식품제조업체의국산 고추 이용에 관한 요인 분석을 통해 국산 고추 이용 확대를 위한 방안을 모색할 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 고추 관련 식품제조업체의 국산 고추 이용에 대한 실태와 국산 고추이용 수준에 미치는 요인을 교차분석과 다중회귀모형분석 등을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 식품제조업체가 매출액이 적은 경우, 회사이외의 법인인 경우, 장류 혹은 김치류를 생산하는 경우, 구매 전담 인력(조직)이 없는 경우, 등록상표가 있는 경우, 정부 지원을 받지 않은 경우 등에서 국산 고추 이용 수준이상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과에 기초하여 정책적 시사점을 제시할 수 있는데,구체적으로 장류 업체에 대한 정책 지원 확대가 검토되어야 하고, 식품제조업체에 대한 정부 지원 기준의 보완이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
Even though the red pepper is one of the most important seasoning vegetables in Korea, thevolume of usage of domestic red pepper has shrunk due to decrease in consumption. Thus,researchers and government officers need to seek for solutions to extend usage of domestic redpepper of food processing industry which consumes considerable amount of it. The purpose ofthis paper is to analyze the factors of the usage of domestic red pepper in food processingcompanies using cross-tabulation analysis and multiple regression model and to find theimplications for promoting the usage of domestic red pepper. The results of studies present thatspecific characteristics of food processing companies affect the usage of domestic red pepper,including size of sales, shape of company, food product processed by company, humanorganization for purchase of food material, registered trademark, and support of government. This study also suggests that government needs to offer more supporting programs to sauceindustry and improve the system of program to promote the usage of domestic red pepper.
