2015 스페인어 개정교육과정의 기본어휘표에는 파생형태론과 관련된 하나의 특별한 조건을 제시하였다: “동사의 경우에는 원형만을 대표로 제시하며, 그 동사의 활용형과 분사 및 그 파생형은 기본 어휘로 간주한다”. 이 조건에 따르면 접미사 ‘-nte’로 이루어진 cantante, estudiante, importante, interesante, valiente와 같은 다섯 단어는 기본어휘표에 수록될 필요가 없는데 그 이유는 이미 동일 기본어휘표에 해당동사들(cantar, estudiar, importar, interesar, valer)이 수록되어있기 때문이다. 더욱이 이러한 조건은 기존 어휘표에 수록된 동사들을 활용하는 경우 (‘-ble’, ‘-dad’, ‘-dor/a’, ‘-tivo/va’와 같은 접미사를 사용하여) 다른 파생의 유형으로 다량의 어휘를 만들 수 있다는 점을 제외하고도, ‘-nte’만으로 76개 이상의 단어를 새로 만들 수 있도록 허용하는 조건이다. 접미사 ‘-nte’는 통시적 관점에서 라틴어 기원이라는 점은 공시적 관점에서 이 접미사의 의미를 파악하여 적절히 사용하는 것이 학생들에게 어려움을 야기하므로, 초급수준의 학습자들에게는 이러한 접미사에 대해 파생형태론에 입각한 명시적 교수는 지양해야 한다고 본다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 어휘 파생과 관련된 내용의 수정이 기본어휘표에서 요구된다고 본다. 본 연구는 ‘-nte’와 관련된 파생형태론 교육이 초급수준에서 필요한 경우에는 어기(base léxica)에 입각한 공시적 접근을 제안하며, 이러한 접근은 접미사 ‘-nte’의 수용적 어휘지식 고양에 긍정적인 효과를 갖기에 충분한 것으로 제안한다.
Abstract
The basic vocabulary list of the Revised National Curriculum of Spanish(2015) has included a specific condition related to the derivational morphology: “In the case of verbs, only the infinitive is presented as a representative form, and all its inflected forms like gerund and participle and its derived forms are regarded as the basic vocabulary.” Acconding to this condition, fives words like cantante, estudiante, importante, interesante, valiente, derived with suffix ‘-nte’, need not to be included in the basic vocabulary list because their corresponding verbs (cantar, estudiar, importar, interesar, valer) appear in the same vocabulary list. Furthermore, this condition permits to create more than 76 new words out of verbs that are already listed in the basic vocabulary list, without considering other kinds of derivations (using ‘-ble’, ‘-dad’, ‘-dor/a’, ‘-tivo/va’) that can produce a large amount of vocabulary. An explicit teaching of derivational morphology for beginning-level learners should be avoided because the suffix ‘-nte’ is, from the diachronical point of view, of Latin origin and even syncronically this can be an obstacle for them in knowing the meaning of this suffix and to use it properly. From this perspective, it is suggested that a modification of the content related to the lexical derivation is required on the a basic vocabulary list. We conclude that if the teaching of derivational morphology about ‘-nte’ in the beginning-level is needed, it is recommended to adopt a syncronic approaches based on the concept of lexical base, which is enough to have a positive effect of increasing the receptive knowledge of the suffix ‘-nte’.
