고등학교 「시민윤리」교과서의 문제성 분석

이 글은 고등학교 교과서 「시민윤리」교과서의 문제성 분석을 위해 제2장 <시민사회의 윤리적 과제>만을 텍스트를 중심으로 비평하였다. 12쪽 분량의 2장에서, 그릇된 설명, 정확하지 못한 설명, 악의 없는 엉터리, 불완전하고 부정확한 기술이 꽤 발견되는 데 필자는 크게 실망하였다. 첫째 잘못된 기술과 오기를 지적할 수 있다. 교과서 필자는 분야에 정확한 지식을 객관적 입장에서 통합하는 데 상당한 문제를 보이고 있다. 둘째, 주관적인 관점에 근거한 피상적인 교과서 저자의 기술을 지적할 수 있다. 셋째, 짧고 쉬운 문장과 거리가 먼 불필요한 내용도 있다. 마지막으로 몇몇 용어가 마구잡이로 사용되고 있다. 단기적 관점에서 최선의 해결책은 교과서의 필자는 시민윤리 내용이 항상 오류가 있을 수 있다는 견지에서 교과서의 잘못을 수정할 준비를 해야 한다. 더 정확한 「시민윤리」교과서를 위하여, 교과서 필자의 책임성(accountability), 학생의 지적 호기심을 자극하고「시민윤리」교과내용을 쉽고 정확하게 이해할 수 있는 있는 교육용으로 알맞음(teachability), 편견이 없고 공정한 전문적인 평가 (evaluation), 학생과 선생에 대한 사회적 책임성(social responsibility) 등을 측정할 수 있는 객관적 기준을 부단히 적용하고 수정하고 개선해야만 한다.
Abstract
This article suggest that writing a textbook "Civics" for high school students should include following aspects to help them learn "Civics" efficiently with better textbooks 1) avoidance of bias, misrepresentation. 2) accurate explanation. 3) clear, easy and objective description. After reviewing only the second chapter of the textbook "Civics" (pp. 10-24) we can find strengths and weaknesses of "Civics". In order to improve the content of "Civics", this paper focuses on its weaknesses and problems. The result is a little discouraging & contrary to our expectation. The tome "Civics" is sometimes poorly written & grammatically incorrect. And also using some subjective & ambiguous terms. In order to publish better "Civics" for students as well as teachers, We develop and improve criteria: Accountability, Professional Evaluation, Teachability and Social Responsibility. "Civics" writers must remember that for better Civics writing, objectivity, easy and understandable information synthesis are essential.
