역량함양교육에 대한 예비영어교원들의 인식 연구

본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정에서 강조하는 핵심역량’에 대한 예비영어교원들의 이해도와 역량함양 교육을 위한 준비도에 대한 인식을 알아보고 이를 향상시킬 수 있는 예비교원 양성 교과교육과정과 비교과 교육과정의 개발에 대하여 제언하는 것이다. 이러한 목적 달성을 위해 사범대학 영어교육학과에 재학 중인 2학년부터 4학년 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 인터뷰도 실시하였다. 주요 결과를 보면, 예비영어교원들의 ‘이해도 ’평균이 ‘준비도 인식’ 보다 높음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 역량중심 교육에 대한 학습 동기는 높은 편이었다. 문항별로는 ‘역량에 대해 알려줄 필요성’에 대한 이해‘나 ’역량 함양중심 교육목표의 필요성에 대한 이해‘ 는 높은 평균을 보인 반면 ‘역량기반 평가’나 ‘역량 중심으로 교육과정 재구성이나 수업 설계 또는 실행’에 대한 준비도는 낮다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 ‘교육과정에 대한 이해’, ‘제시하는 역량에 대한 이해‘ 를 포함한 몇 개의 항목에서는 학년별로 유의미한 차이가 있다는 것을 알 수 있었는데 모든 항목에서 4학년들의 평균 점수가 다른 학년들보다 유의미하게 높았다. 인터뷰에서는 2015 개정 교육과정을 바탕으로 수업을 개발하고 직접 시연해 본 경험이 교육과정이나 역량을 이해하는 데에 도움이 되었다는 내용이 많았다. 역량 중심 교육의 이해도와 준비도와 이해도와 학습동기 정도 사이의 관계를 알아보기 위한 상관관계 분석에서는 ‘역량함양 교수학습 방법에 대한 이해’와 ‘역량함양 수업설계가능’, ‘제시하는 역량에 대한 이해’와 ‘역량함양 수업설계가능’의 상관관계가 유의미하게 높았다. 이러한 결과는 영어예비교원들을 위한 역량 기반 수업의 실연 기회 확대와 현장 연계를 강화할 수 있는 교과 교육과정과 비교과 교육과정의 필요성을 보여주고 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out (1) the pre-service English teachers’ awareness of competency in the 2015 Revised Curriculum and (2) the degree of preparation of competency-oriented education. It is also a suggest the development of the curriculum for training pre-service teachers that can improve the level of preparation. To achieve this goal, a survey and interviews on students in the second to fourth grades of English education were conducted. Major results show that the average score of ‘understanding’ was higher than that of ‘degree of preparation,’ Also, the motivation for learning competency-oriented education was high. By question, the score of ‘understanding the need to inform about competency’ or ‘understanding the need for competency-oriented educational goals’ were high while ‘competency-oriented assessment’ and ‘competency-oriented curriculum reconstruction’ were low. In addition, there were significant differences between grades in a few categories, including “understanding the curriculum” and “understanding the Competency Presented in the 2015 revised curriculum,” where the average score of fourth graders in all categories was significantly higher than that of other grades. In the interview, many people said that the experience of developing and demonstrating a class based on the 2015 revised curriculum helped them understand the curriculum or competency. The correlation between the understanding and preparation of competency-oriented education was significantly high in the correlation between ‘understanding of competency-building teaching methods’ and ‘ability of teaching design’ and ‘understanding of competency’ and ‘ability of teaching design.’ Based on these results, this study makes suggestions for the curriculum for English pre-service teachers.
