교사 교육과정 담론 속 역사과 교사용 지도서의 개선 방향 모색

본 연구는 중학교 역사과 교사용 지도서의 현황과 교사용 지도서가 교육적 지원을 제공하는 정도를 분석하기 위해 2015개정 교육과정에 따른 7종의 중학교 『역사』 교사용 지도서 1개 대단원의 구성 체제와 기능을 분석하고, 분석 결과에 기초하여 교사 교육과정 구성과 실천에 도움을 주는 역사과 교사용 지도서의 개선 방안을 도출하였다. 중학교 『역사』 교사용 지도서는 ‘도입-차시 내용-평가 및 마무리’라는 기본 구성 체제와 단원 도입, 차시 지도안, 해설, 보충자료, 수행평가, 기타 평가, 단원 마무리, 기타 활동이라는 세부적인 구성요소에서 전반적인 유사성을 보였다. 기능 측면에서는 자료의 제공(79%), 교사와 학생 행동의 지시(19%), 교사의 학습 ･성장･변화 지원(2%)이라는 교사용 지도서의 세 가지 기능에 주력하고 있었으며, 7종의 지도서는 기능 분포에서 유사성을 나타내었다. 분석 결과를 통해 7종의 교사용 지도서는 구성 체제면에서는 차시별 수업 내용을 중심에 두고 있고, 기능 측면에서는 자료의 제공에 주력하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 교사 교육과정이 활발하게 논의되는 담론 속에서 수업 내용 전달에 중심을 둔 교사용 지도서의 활용도 더욱 낮아질 가능성이 있다. 이와 같은 분석 결과에 기초해 볼 때, 중학교 『역사』 교사의 수업 구성과 교수･학습 향상에 직접적인 도움을 주기 위해서는 정보 전달을 넘어서 교사의 교육적 의사 결정을 지원하는 교수용 교재로서 교사용 지도서가 거듭날 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 교사의 학습과 성장을 지원하는 교육적 교수학습자료로서의 교사용 지도서 개발을 위한 구체적인 방향을 제언하였다.
Abstract
Based on the concept of educative curriculum materials, this study analyzed the organization and function of 7 middle school history teachers’ guides. Focusing the analysis on one unit from each guide, the study aimed at providing suggestions in the development of teacher guides which promote teacher-created curriculum materials. All 7 middle school history teachers’ guides shared the ‘introduction-lessons-assessment and summary’ organization with categories including unit introduction, lesson plan, commentary, additional materials, performance assessment, other assessment, unit summary, and other activities. The analysis also revealed that teachers’ guides devote 79% to providing materials, 19% to directing teachers’ and students’ actions, and 2% to educative supports that assist teachers’ learning, growth and change. The results demonstrated that the current teachers’ guides concentrate on lessons category by providing instructional materials to teachers. The results of this study present a challenge in terms of implementing teacher-created curriculum materials. Teachers’ guides that focus on providing materials to teachers without supports for teacher learning have a high chance of being neglected by teachers. The study discusses two suggestions for future development of teachers’ guides.
