초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 기질이 몇 개의 잠재계층으로 구분되는지를 살펴보고 추출된 각 프로파일에 따른 어머니의 공감능력, 양육스트레스 및 유아의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니의 반응에 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만 3-6세에 해당하는 유아의 어머니 220명이 분석에 참여하였으며, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구에 참여된 유아들의 기질프로파일을 추출한 결과 ‘감각민감형’, ‘활동적 반응형’, ‘회피적 부적응형’, ‘활동적 평범형’, ‘평범형’, ‘적응형’, 총 6개의 잠재계층으로 구분되었다. 둘째, 각 변인에 대한 잠재계층별 차이를 검증하기 위해 일원분산분석을 실시한 결과, 지지적, 감정표현의 격려, 정서중심적, 문제중심적, 비지지적, 처벌적, 스트레스적 반응과 인지적 공감능력, 양육 스트레스에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 반면, 최소화 반응과 정서적 공감능력에서는 잠재계층별 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 기질을 통해 도출된 각 잠재계층의 특성을 파악하고, 아동이나 부모에 대한 평가 및 상담 시, 적절한 개입방향을 고려하는데 있어서 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Abstract

This study investigated how temperament of children's are divided into several potential profiles and to see how different the mother's reactions to children's negative emotions, the mother's empathy, parenting stress are with each profile extracted. To this end, 220 mothers of children aged 3-6 participated in the analysis. As a result of categorizing temperament profiles of children involved in the study, 'sensory sensitivity', 'active reactive', 'inhibited maladjusted', 'active moderate', 'moderate', 'well adjusted', total of six potential profiles. An one-way ANOVA study was conducted to identify the differences between potential profiles for each variable, and significant differences were found in supportive responses, expressive encouragement, emotion-focused reactions, problem-focused reactions, nonsupportive responses, punitive reactions, distress reactions, cognitive empathy, and parenting stress. Whereas differences between potential profiles were not significant in minimization reactions and emotional empathy. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that useful information can be provided in identifying characteristics of each potential profiles derived from temperaments, and in examining appropriate direction of intervention in the assessment and consultation of children or parents.
