세종학당 학문 목적 한국어 교육과정 개발을 위한 요구 분석 연구 - 국내･외 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 중심으로 -

이 연구는 일반 목적 한국어교육에서 학문 목적 한국어교육으로수요가 전환되는 흐름에 대응하여 세종학당 학문 목적 한국어 교육과정 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 마련하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를위해 국내외 학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 설문 조사와 심층면담(FGI)을 실시하고, 그 결과를 분석하여 향후 표준화된 교육과정의 설계 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구 참여자는 세종학당 출신 유학생을 포함한 국내 유학생, 해외대학의 한국어학 학습자, 해외 세종학당 학습자로 구성되었으며, 총 403명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 설문 문항은 학문목적 교육과정의 필요성, 수업 운영 방식, 선호하는 교육 내용 등을포괄하도록 구성되었으며, 설문에서 드러나지 않은 학습자의 실제경험과 구체적인 교육적 요구를 보완하기 위해 30명을 대상으로 심층면담도 병행하여 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 학습자들은 입학 전 단계에서부터 학문 목적 교육과정의 필요성을 강하게 인식하고 있었으며, 중급 이상 수준의 학습자를 위한 단계적인 교육과정 구성의 필요성이 확인되었다. 또한전공 관련 어휘, 학술적 글쓰기, 강의 이해와 발표 등 실질적인 학문수행 능력 함양을 위한 교육 내용을 요구하였다. 교육 운영 방식에있어서는 온･오프라인 병행 수업과 중급 이상 수준 설정, 과제 중심수업 방식을 선호하는 경향을 보였다. 다만 입학 전에는 학습자들이대학에 진학하기 전 기초 언어 능력과 대학 생활 적응 준비가 필요하다는 의견이 많았으나 입학 후에는 강의 이해, 논문 작성, 전공용어 습득, 학사 시스템 활용 등 실제 대학 생활에서 겪는 어려움을해결하는 데 중점을 두어야 한다는 점이 강조되었다. 본 연구는 학습자의 실제 경험과 교육적 요구를 기반으로 세종학당학문 목적 한국어 교육과정의 방향성과 구성 요소를 구체화하였으며, 향후 세종학당의 교육 영역 확장과 표준화된 교육과정 수립을 위한실질적 토대를 마련했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to provide basic data for the development of an academic Korean language curriculum at Sejong Institute in response to the shift in demand from general purpose Korean language education to academic Korean language education. To this end, surveys and in-depth interviews were conducted with domestic and international academic Korean language learners, and the results were analyzed to provide direction for the design of a standardized curriculum. The participants of the study consisted of international students, including those from Sejong Academy, Korean language learners at overseas universities, and Sejong Academy learners abroad, and a total of 403 participants were surveyed. The survey questions were designed to cover the need for academic purpose curriculum, how classes are organized, and preferred educational content, and in-depth interviews were conducted with 30 learners to supplement their actual experiences and specific educational needs that were not revealed in the survey. The results of the study showed that learners strongly recognized the need for an academically oriented curriculum from the pre-admission stage, and confirmed the need for a graduated curriculum for learners at intermediate and higher levels. In addition, they requested educational contents to foster practical academic performance skills such as vocabulary related to their major, academic writing, and lecture understanding and presentation. In terms of teaching methods, they favored a combination of online and offline classes, intermediate and higher levels, and task-based teaching. However, it was emphasized that learners need basic language skills and preparation for university life before entering university, but after entering university, the focus should be on solving the difficulties they face in actual university life, such as understanding lectures, writing papers, acquiring academic terminology, and utilizing the academic system. The significance of this study is that it has refined the direction and components of Sejong Academy's Korean language curriculum for academic purposes based on learners' actual experiences and educational needs, and laid a practical foundation for the expansion of Sejong Academy's educational areas and the establishment of a standardized curriculum in the future.
