청각장애학생과 건청학생의 정서 특성과 국어과 학업성취도와의 관계

청각장애학생의 정서적 특성과 정서와 학업성취와의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 청각장애 중등학생 49명, 건청 중학생 70명을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청각장애 중등학생은 건청 중학생과 비교할 때 걱정, 두려움, 분노, 활동성에서 차이가 없었으나, 사교성에서는 통계적으로 낮은 점수를 보였다. 이는 청각장애학생의 정서 특성은 건청학생과 비슷한 경향성을 보이며, 특히 사교성 증진을 위한 교육이 필요함을 시사한다. 둘째, 청각장애학생과 건청학생은 모두 정서적 특성과 학업성취 간에 곡선회귀모형에서 2차회귀곡선 형태의 상관관계가 있었다. 즉 걱정, 두려움, 분노, 활동성, 사교성이 중간 정도로 적당할 때 학업성취 수준이 가장 높았고, 정서적 특성이 너무 낮거나 너무 높은 경우에는 학업성취가 낮았다. 정서 전체 항목의 학업성취에 대한 설명력은 12%였으며, 사교성의 학업성취에 대한 설명력은 32%로 가장 높았다. 이러한 연구 결과는 정서 특성과 학업성취 간에는 상관관계가 높다는 것을 나타내며, 청각장애학생의 사교성을 포함한 정서 지도의 필요성과 정서적 안정의 중요성을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out affect characteristics and relation between affect and academic achievement of hearing impaired students. The subjects were 49 deaf middle and high school students and 70 hearing middle school students. The results are following. First, there was no differences in anxiety, fear, anger, activity between two groups. But hearing impaired students had lower score in sociality than hearing students. This result presents that affect characteristics of hearing impaired students show the similar tendency to hearing students, and the necessity of sociality improvement education. Second, correlation between affect and academic achievement was in curve-linear regression model. Namely when affect characteristics was middle, achievement level was high. And when affect characteristics was loose or tense, achievement level was low. This result reveals that correlation between affect and academic achievement is apparent, and necessity of continuous affective education and stability of affect for academic achievement improvement of hearing impaired students.
