Abstract

The study was conducted to understand the parent’s perception and demand on the inclusive classroom. We surveyed nationwide parents who have student with disabilities enrolled in inclusive classroom. The survey showed that, for the most, the parents wanted their children to be socialized, And, they depended mostly on other parents, special classroom teacher and other experts in special education field for information on school adjustment, school work of their children. Also, the parents’ participation on IEP meeting were very low. For their children’s difficulty in school, the parents were quite aware of problem behavior, low achievement on general curriculum, and maliciously alienating fellow classmates. The verbal ridicule or alienation from classmate worked as an obstruction in making friends within the classroom. Taking the results of the study, we discussed and suggested to improve the quality of inclusive classroom.
