본 연구는 LiD(Learning in Depth)프로그램의 학습 결과물인 학습자 포트폴리오를 심층적으로 분석함으로써 프로그램의 교육적 가치와 시행상의 한계를 탐색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 LiD프로그램을 국내에 처음으로 도입하여 전교생을 대상으로 5년간 시행하고 있는 부산의 N초교 학습자의 LiD포트폴리오를 질적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 프로그램이 의욕-정체-극복의 과정을 거쳐 장기화될 수 있었던 배경에는 주제와의 느슨한 연결성과 지루함에 대한 관용이 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학습자의 수준과 탐구 가능성을 고려한 적절한 질문이 활동의 질을 좌우했으며 셋째, LiD프로그램이 이론적으로 강조하는 인지도구의 활용이 실제로 활동에 도움을 준 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 학습자들은 각자의 경험과 관심을 바탕으로 활동을 통해 얻은 지식들을 내부에서 통합하는 모습을 보였다. 다섯째, 촉진자로서 교사, 가족, 동료가 중요한 역할을 하였고 여섯째, 교과 및 다양한 학습 미디어와 결합할 수 있는 가능성을 보였다. 결론적으로, LiD프로그램은 오래 지속하는 공부를 가능하게 함으로써 성과중심적인 오늘날 교육을 되돌아보게 하고, 인지도구의 활용이라는 새로운 교육의 지평을 제시한다. 그러나 여전히 개별 학습자들의 활동을 촉진하는 구체적인 교육적 개입이 부족한 실정이며, 교과와의 연계, 교육문화 반영 등 한국 교육환경에 맞는 개선 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the learner's portfolio, which is a result of LiD (Learning in Depth) program, and to explore its educational values and limitations. This study conducted a qualitative analysis on portfolios of Busan N elementary school students. N elementary school introduced the LiD program for the first time in Korea and has been running for 5 years for all students. As a result of these analysis: First, the program was able to be prolonged because of loose connection with the subject and tolerance for boredom. Second, the quality of the activity was influenced by a good question that considered the level of learners and the possibility of exploring. Third, the cognitive tools, emphasized in the LiD program, were actually effective in activities. Fourth, learners integrated the knowledge gained from LiD activities based on their experiences and interests. Fifth, teachers, family, and colleagues played an important role as facilitators. Sixth, it was related to the regular curriculum and various learning media. In conclusion, the LiD program allows us to look back on performance-oriented education by enabling long-lasting study, and provides a new idea of cognitive tools. And It needs to seek measures appropriate to the educational environment in Korea, such as linking with the curriculum and improving the culture.
