무용전공 대학생의 성격과 학습양식의 관계

본 연구는 무용교육 현장에서 학습자의 특성을 고려한 개별화 교육을 위한 효과적 교수전략 수립과 다양한 교수-학습 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초연구로서, 교수-학습과정에서 중요한 변인으로 작용하는 성격과 학습양식의 관계를 규명하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 무용전공 대학생을 모집단으로 서울, 경기, 충청남도 소재 7개교를 임의표집 하여, 김영미(2008)의 연구에서 사용된 NEOFFI와 임창재(1994)가 GRSLSQ를 기초로 한국대학생을 고려해 제작한 학습양식 검사지를 본 연구의 목적과 대상에 맞게 수정․보완한 450부의 설문지를 배부하였다. 회수된 377부 중 유효한 257부를 SPSSWIN 12.0 프로그램을 통해 유의수준 .05에서 빈도분석, 상관분석, 교차분석, 중다회귀분석 하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습양식에 대한 빈도분석에서 각 차원별 대립적 특성을 모두 포함하는 중간적 학습양식이 가장 많았다. 한편, 중간적 학습양식을 제외하고 대립적 특성만을 가진 학습양식만을 비교한 결과에서는 독립형 학습양식이 독립-의존 차원에서, 참여형 학습양식이 참여-회피 차원에서, 경쟁형 학습양식이 경쟁-협동 차원에서 선호되는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성격특성과 학습양식의 상관분석에서 신경증을 제외한 모든 성격특성 요인들이 학습양식과 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 무용경력과 실기장르에 따른 학습양식의 분포에 대한 교차분석 결과, 무용경력이 길어질수록 학습양식이 독립적, 회피적, 경쟁적으로 변화하는 것으로 나타났으며 실기장르와는 통계적으로 유의미한 관계가 없었다. 넷째, 성격특성이 학습양식에 미치는 영향력을 알아보기 위한 회귀분석 결과, 성격요인은 의존형 학습양식을 제외한 독립형, 참여형, 회피형, 경쟁형, 참여형 학습양식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 성격과 학습양식의 상호관련성은 학습자 이해 측면에서 유용한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 이를 바탕으로 효율적 교수설계 및 다양한 프로그램 개발 등이 후행되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 무용전공 대학생을 대상으로 정의적 학습양식에 국한되었으나, 무용교육이 인지적, 정의적, 심동적 영역의 조화로운 발달을 도모하는 총체적 교육으로서 의미를 지니는 만큼 세 영역에 걸친 폭넓고, 심도 있는 후속연구가 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to figure out the relations between personalities and learning styles as important variables affect on teaching-learning process. The total 450 questionnaires consisted with NEO Five Factor Inventory that Kim(2008) used and the learning style test based on GRSLSQ revised by Lim(1994) were distributed to dance major university students conveniently sampled in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and South Chungcheong province. The data of valid 257 questionnaires of 377 collected were analyzed by frequency, correlation, chi-square, and multiple regression analysis at the significant level .05. The results are as below: First, according to the results of frequency analysis on the distribution of dance major university students' learning styles, the Neutral learning style was observed the most. Except the neutral learning style, it showed high frequency in the Independent, Participant, and Collaborative learning styles. Second, based on the results of correlation analysis between the characteristics of personality and learning types, there were correlations between the characteristics of personality and learning types except Neuroticism. Third, according to the results of chi-square analysis on the distribution of learning types by dance career and genre, there were significant partial relations. Fourth, according to the results of regression analysis to examine the influences of personality on learning types, personality influences on the Independent, Participant, Avoidance, and Comparative learning types except the Independent learning type. The results of relations between personality and learning types of dance major university students are useful to understand learners' behaviors, and can be used for study of effective teaching-learning methods as well as development of various dance programs. Although this study was conducted within the affective domain of dance majored university students, the following studies including cognitive and psycho-motor domain are needed to be followed.
