개인 또는 가구에서 시시각각으로 행하는 대부분 의사결정들은 불확실성과 위험을 포함하고 있다. 온전한 실증분석은 분석대상의 위험에 대한 선호와 관련된 정보가 필수불가결하다. 개인의 선호체계를 파악하기란 단순하지 않으나, 대표적 실태조사인 SCF, PSID, HRS 등에서는 다양한 상황을 설정한 실험경제학적 방법론을 적용, 위험감수도를 파악함으로써 다양한 유의미한 연구결과를 생성시키는 토대를 만들었다. 이러한 논의가 부족한 우리나라에서는 상당수 실태조사가 존재함에도 위험감수도에 대한 정보가 없고, 그 결과 위험감수도를 고려한 연구는 거의 없었다.「한국노동패널조사」제7차연도 조사에서 위험감수도를 파악할 수 있는 자료가 만들어짐으로써 다양한 연구의 가능성을 열어 놓았다. 본 연구는 이 자료를 통하여 집단적 또는 개인적 위험선호체계의 논리적 정합성을 파악하는 한편 위험감수도의 결정요인을 살펴본다. 또한 위험감수도를 적용하는 하나의 사례로 자영업 선택에서 위험감수도의 역할을 밝히고 있다.
Abstract
Decisions made by each individuals or households in everyday lives include uncertainty and risk. Necessary to empirically examine those is information on their preferences on risks. Some surveys such as the SCF, the PSID, and the HRS have contributed to construct a basis for measuring risk tolerance applying experimental methods with various setups. There has been no information on risk tolerance in many surveys in Korea and therefore no research dealing with or using it. The 7th wave of the Korea Labor and Income Panel Survey (2004) includes 5 experimental questionnaires to measure risk tolerance, which opens new possibilities in many research areas. This paper examines whether the individual and group system of preference for risks is consistent, what determines risk tolerance or the risk tolerance indicator, and wether risk tolerance plays an additional important effect on individual choice of self-employment.
