이 논문에서는 한국과 독일 및 우크라이나의 과거사에 대한 대통령 연설 두 편을 분석하였다. 대한민국의 문재인 대통령이 발표한 광주민주화운동 기념사와 독일의 요아힘 가우크 대통령이 발표한 바빈 야르 학살 관련 연설은 텍스트 구조 면과 수사학적 전략 면에서 몇 가지 공통점을 지니고 있다. 그리고 이 연설문들은 비판적 담화분석의 관점에서 보더라도 공통점이 나타난다. 이를 통해 이 대통령들은 과거사에 대한 기억과 비판을 통해서 궁극적으로 자신들의 정치적 정당성을 확보하고 뒷받침하고자 한다는 점을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
In this study, I analyzed two speeches on the past history of Korea and Germany/Ukraine. The speech on the Gwangju Democratization Movement, delivered by Korean President Moon Jae-in, and the speech on the Babyn Jar massacre, delivered by German President Joachim Gauck, share some common characteristics, including similar text structure, as well as similar rhetorical strategies. Moreover, they share common characteristics even from the perspective of critical discourse analysis. The presidents ultimately intended to secure and support their own political validity through the memories and criticisms of past history.
