K-DASS-21(Korean version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21) 질문지를 측정도구로 사용하여 독립표본 t-검정과 대응표본 t-검정을 실시하였고 Cronbach’ a는 .798로 신뢰도를 확보하였다.
Abstract
This study focused on the prospective social medium of dance, aiming to emphasize the importance of dance in restoring the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of individuals amid the COVID-19 pandemic. By utilizing movement performances, the study sought to alleviate the negative impacts of the pandemic on people’s lives. A total of 16 students from K University’s dance practice class were purposively selected out of 20, who then participated in a survey, along with a Focus Group Interview (FGI), to quantitatively assess changes after participating in the movement performance. The survey employed an independent sample t-test and a paired sample t-test, using the K-DASS-21 (Korean version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21) questionnaire, exhibiting a reliable Cronbach's alpha of .798. The FGI involved unstructured interviews based on three themes: psychological changes during the COVID-19 period, efforts to restore mental health, and role of dance in addressing social problems; the themes were then categorized by sub-system. The study revealed the social significance of dance as a public art form, community engagement tool, and means of promoting health and wellbeing through culture and arts education. The execution process of the movement performance spanned 15 weeks, incorporating instructional design, planning using PBL, composition and production using narrative techniques, and a combination of online and offline presentations using flip learning. Participated exhibited significant reductions in variables such as depression, anxiety, and stress levels after engaging in the movement performance participants, compared to the non-participants. In addition, the study identified benefits such as improved self-concentration, reflection on life, sustainability interpersonal relationships fostered through movement, increased physical and social activities, and positive emotional experiences.
