본 연구는 인공지능 학습 원리 중심의 인공지능 교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 초등학생에게 적용하여 교육적 효과를 분석하는데 목적을 두었다. 손글씨를 활용하여 이미지 분류 모델을 학습시키면서 학생들이 직접 데이터를 제작, 분류, 구성 하고 하이퍼 파라미터와 데이터 편향 등의 인공지능 학습의 원리를 이해하여 이미지 분류 인공지능을 제작, 개선하는데 초점을 두었다. 프로그램은 초등학교 6학년 학생 27명을 대상으로 총 9차시로 시행되었으며, 프로그램의 교육적 효과를 분석하기 위해 컴퓨팅 사고력과 인공지능 리터러시에 대한 사전, 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 본 교육 프로그램은 학생들의 컴퓨팅 사고력과 인공지능 리터러시 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study aimed to develop an AI education program focused on AI learning principles and to analyze its educational effectiveness by applying it to elementary school students. By training image classification models using handwritten characters, the program focused on enabling students to understand AI learning principles such as data generation, classification, organization, hyperparameter tuning, and data bias, ultimately leading them to create and improve image classification AI. The program was implemented over nine sessions with 27 sixth-grade elementary school students. Pre- and post-tests on computational thinking and AI literacy were administered to analyze the program's educational effectiveness. The results of this study confirmed that the developed educational program had a positive impact on improving students' computational thinking and AI literacy.
