조선시대 충청 수군진 입지의 지형학적 연구

충청해안은 전라도와 경기도의 연안항로 중간에 위치하여, 호남평야에서 생산된 미곡을 운반하는 조운선이 통과하는 군사 및 해상교통 면에서 중요한 해역이다. 본 연구에서는 충청지역에 설치된 16개 수군진을 대상으로 문헌조사, 지형도분석, 현지조사를 실시하여 지형학적 입지특성을 분석하였다. 연구결과 충청지역의 대부분의 수군진들은 가로림만권역 및 천수만권역에 설치되어 있었으며, 수군진의 입지특성을 유형화한 결과 총 7개 유형으로 분류할 수 있었다. 특히 이들 유형 중 Type-Ⅰa와 Type-Ⅰb가 가장 많은 비율을 차지하였다. 이러한 원인은 이들 지역이 충청해안에서 가장 규모가 큰 만입지에 위치하고 있어서 조류의 속도가 빠르고, 주변 지역에 비하여 수심이 깊고 수로가 잘 발달되어 있으며, 바람 및 파랑으로부터의 직접적인 영향을 받지 않으므로 은폐 및 방어에 유리한 천혜의 지형적 입지조건을 가지고 있기 때문이다.
Abstract
The Chungcheong coasts position between Jeolla and Gyeonggi province’s ports makes it important inthat transportation-ship can transport supplies such as rice, which are produced in Honam plains. In this study weanalysed a study of documents, of 16 naval stations, an analysis of topographical maps, and various field works to obtainthe geomorphological characteristics of the naval stations. As a result of the study, most of the naval stations inChungcheong province were in the Garorim-bay and Chunsu-bay zone. These naval stationss characteristics can beclassified into 7 types. Especially, type-Ia and type-Ib occurred the most. Because the tide current are fast, thissurrounding water is deeper and more developed than the others, and it isnt affected by the wind and ocean waves,therefore making it ideal for defence and concealment.
