초록
Objectives: This study aimed to explore the experiences of patients with Hwabyung and depression who participated in the Mindfulness and Qigong Practice program (MQT-SH). Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with six participants who volunteered for the study after attending the Mindfulness and Qigong Practice program. The collected data were systematically analyzed following the six-phase guideline of thematic analysis. Results: Four themes and ten subthemes emerged from the analysis. These included: Positive Changes (physical changes, emotional changes, relational changes); Mechanisms of Change (distancing, self-acceptance, expansion of perspective); Difficulties in the Program (limitations in content and structure, challenges in meditation practice); and Suggestions for Improvement (enhancement of content and structure, follow-up management). Conclusions: This qualitative study provided a deeper understanding of the experiences of patients with Hwabyung and depression in the Mindfulness and Qigong Practice program. It identified the program's effects and mechanisms across multiple dimensions. Notably, the program demonstrates that Mindfulness and Qigong Practice can positively impact not only symptom relief but also overall quality of life and ways of being.
