Abstract
Every heuristic-bound scientific community is by nature a hegemonic system in which scientific and non-scientific social interests are continuously exchanged between the ‘core set’ and the individual scientists as ‘collaborators’. The concept of universal science, accordingly, is nothing more than a hollow political image, or a ‘mirage’, produced in the course of rational choice for maximizing interests within the system dynamics. Social science research, which inherently subsumes sociocultural locality, is no exception; the ‘universal social science’ is both a scientifically and politically mobilized concept, defined within the finite epistemic sphere of cultural mantle. In this context, localization of social science is possible only when the current exchange system is successfully replaced by a new and powerful system in which the acceptance and convergence on the localized heuristic guarantees better social interests for the collaborators.
