국외 학교 음악수업에서 활용할 한국음악교육자료 개발을 위한 기초자료 연구

최근 한류나 K-pop의 열풍으로 세계가 한국의 음악 문화유산에 많은 관심 을 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 국외에서 한국 음악의 정확하고 적합한 교육 자료를 쉽게 구하지 못하고 있는 상황이다. 이에 본 연구는 미국 초등학교 음악교과서에 수록된 한국 음악의 종류와 다문화적 학습 요소를 분석하여 그 문제점을 진단함으로써, 국외 학교음악교육에서 활용할 수 있는 한국 음악 자료개발에 필요한 기초자료를 제시하는 것을 연구 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하 여 미국에서 출판되고 있는 대표적인 초등학교 음악교과서인 Spotlight on Music Gr.3-6에 수록된 한국음악의 종류와 학습방법을 분석하고 다문화 음 악교육자료 개발 시 고려하여야 할 사항을 문헌 연구하였다. 동시에 초・중급 수준으로 편곡되어진 우리 민요 <새야 새야 파랑새야>(Bird, Bird, Blue Bird)를 음악적.문화적 교육 자료와 함께 소개함으로써 국외 학교 음악 교육에 서 활용할 수 있는 예시 자료로 제공하였다.
Abstract
In these days many people in the world pay attention to Korean music and culture through the influence of the “Korean Wave” or “K-pop” which refers to the significantly increased popularity of South Korean culture around the world, advanced by multiculturalism. However, it is not easy to find Korean music outside the country for classroom use and the lack of teaching materials may lead the music educators to teach without the fundamental musical understanding. Therefore the purpose of this study is to develop Korean music materials for foreign students outside the country. For this, Spotlight on Music Gr.3-6 which are the representative music text books published in the United States were analyzed to diagnose the use of Korean music materials. In addition, this study introduced one of the most famous Korean folk tunes, ‘bird, bird blue bird’ in different levels and types with teaching tips to incorporate multicultural experiences in their general music classes.
