Abstract
In this study, we try to describe all the case markers in all Korean dialects. The cases that we have dealt with here are subjective, objective, genitive, dative, locative, comitative, instrumental, comparative, vocative and conjunctive. The case markets which have been neglected in past studies are given special descriptions of in this study. These are subjective marker `ira` and `dagas○` in Chungnam dialect, genitive marker `s` in Chungnam and south-western dialects, dative marker of south-eastern dialect `i-l/ro`, dative marker of north-western dialect `gwa`, locative marker of Chungnam dialect `ira`, instrumental marker of north-eastern dialect `i-/ri-` and vocative marker `sa` in Gyungbuk Yecheon dialect. In addition to these interesting particles, we can also observe that some case markers are used for more than one case, that is, `ira` for subjective and locative in Chungnam dialect, `i-l/ro` for objective and dative in south-eastern dialect, `boda` for dative and comparative in south-western dialect, `gwa` for dative and comitative in north-western dialect, `i-/ri-` for objective, locative and instnunental in north-eastern dialect, and `yo, ye, id○` for vocative and honorific markers in south-eastern dialect. However we don`t succeed in finding out some meaningful direction of functional changes in these ambiguous particles.
