초록
This article examines Chinese initial reading of the Yunhuiyin reflected in Saseongtonghae. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze Chinese initial reading of Yunhuiyin in Tonghae and to examine the nature of the readings and what phonological system they reflect. I will also scrutinize whether Yunhuiyin is the Koreanized version of Juyao currently transmitted. We can summarize the discussion in this article as follows. First, the most important characteristic of the initial reading of Yunhuiyin is that it is a narrow transcription, which is a one-to-one transcription of Chinese sounds into Chinese readings. Second, the transcription of Yunhuiyin is similar to the transcription of Yeokhun and Tonggo, but there are some differences. Third, the initial consonant system of Juyao and Yunhuiyin can be said to have phonological features of both northern and southern modern Chinese dialects, but it is difficult to conclude that they have a clear succession relationship with any particular modern Chinese dialect. Fourth, even if there are minor differences between Yunhuiyin and Juyao, we can conclude that Yunhuiyin may not reflect sources other than Juyao.
Abstract
