Abstract
This paper identifies [NP1-(은) NP2-(가) Vs-ending] as the basic syntactic pattern of Korean psychological constructions and conducts a systematic analysis of their syntactic features, focusing on subjective predicates (psychological adjectives). Based on this structure, the study explores corresponding Chinese translation strategies. Furthermore, by adopting this pattern as a representative syntactic framework for Korean psychological sentences, the paper highlights limitations in previous comparative studies between Korean and Chinese subjective predicates, and proposes solutions. The main findings are as follows: First, in Chinese, the argument in the NP1 position can function as the subject, while the NP2 argument can appear as the object; Second, in Korean psychological constructions, the experiencer subject in the NP1 position is subject to certain person-related constraints; Third, due to the person-related constraints of subjective predicates, even when the NP1 subject is not explicitly expressed in Korean, it should be overtly rendered in Chinese translation; Fourth, the translation approach proposed in this study shows strong structural similarity to Korean psychological constructions and offers high comparability; Fifth, using the translation example “언니가 많이 보고 싶어요” and “我很 想姐姐,” the study offers a coherent explanation of the correspondence between the two.
