Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify a causal relationship among adaptive performance, transformational leadership, learning orientation, self esteem, commitment to change of workers in small and medium sized enterprises. The data were collected by mail, e-mail and visiting. A total of 270 questionnaires were returned from 18 corporation, of which 233 were used for analysis after data cleaning. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. To estimate parameters of proposed research model, structural equation modeling analysis was used. Alll data analysis was accomplished using the SPSS 20.0 Win statistics package and AMOS 18.0 version. An alpha level of 5% was established prior for determining significance. The findings of the study was as follows: First, the fit index of structural equation model among adaptive performance, transformational leadership, learning orientation and commitment to change were identified suitably. Second, self esteem and commitment to change had a significantly positive direct effect on adaptive performance. Third, transformational leadership had a significantly indirect effect on adaptive performance through self esteem and commitment to change. Forth, learning orientation had a significantly indirect effect on adaptive performance through commitment to change. Fifth, self esteem had a significantly indirect effect on adaptive performance through commitment to change.
