본 연구의 목적은 센(Amartya Sen)의 역량접근을 중심으로 인공지능 시대에 능력과 장애는 어떻게 새롭게 해석되어야 하는 지를 분석하는 데에 있었다. 구체적인 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인공지능 시대에 대두되는 인공능력은 무엇이고, 이를 기반으로 인간능력은 어떻게 새롭게 해석되어야 하는가? 둘째, 인공능력에 대한 바람직한 교육적 해석은 무엇인가? 셋째, 인공지능 시대에 장애는 어떻게 재해석되어야 하는가? 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인공능력은 인공물 자체의 능력과 이를 활용한 인간의 능력, 기계와 인간이 결합한 결과로 나타난 능력, 그리고 공학에 의해 특별한 능력을 가지고 태어난 인간의 능력 등을 포함한다. 둘째, 인공지능 시대에 적합한 인간능력은 자기능력, 환경능력, 인공능력, 그리고 노력의 결합으로 이해되어야 한다. 셋째, 인공지능 시대에 학교는 인공능력을 학생 개인의 능력으로 인정하고, 학생들이 이를 활용하여 자신의 능력을 계발하도록 지도해야 한다. 넷째, 장애는 개별 인간의 상호의존성 차이로 인해 삶에 필수적인 기능 선택의 자유(역량)가 제한되는 상태로 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 새롭게 해석한 능력과 장애의 개념은 능력에 따라 차등적으로 제공하는 교육 체제의 개선과, 장애에 근거하여 서비스를 제공하는 특수교육의 근본적 개혁에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study was to reanalyze ability and disability in terms of the Capability Approach suggested by Amartya Sen. The specific research questions were as follows: Firstly, what is artificial abilities and how do human abilities need to be newly interpreted in the artificial intelligence era? Secondly, what is the appropriate educational interpretation of artificial abilities? Thirdly, how do disabilities need to be newly interpreted in the artificial intelligence era. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, artificial abilities consist of the abilities of artificial itself, the human abilities caused by using artificial abilities, the abilities combined of artificial abilities with human abilities, and human abilities who have special abilities by technology from birth. Secondly, human abilities should be the combination of self abilities, environment abilities, artificial abilities and efforts. Thirdly, school should admit artificial abilities as students’ abilities and teach the students to use artificial abilities effectively to convert them to their abilities. Lastly, disabilities should be interpreted as the limitation of freedom to select functions that are essential for living caused by the difference of human dependency.
