Abstract

Gender difference in advertising is the most important interest. But domestic studies of consumers' gender have limited tendency to examine normal assumption like gender and purchasing intention difference. This study examined the different effects by demographic feature, using humor appeal in mobile banner advertising. In short, independent variable is composed of 4 product types of mobile banner advertising, and dependent variable is measured by attitude toward advertising, brand, and purchasing intention by gender, generation, and consumers' job. Examining attitude toward advertising, brand, and purchasing intention in consumers' gender, rational products of high involvement showed women's higher figure than those of men. Emotional products of high involvement showed men's higher figure in purchasing intention than women and emotional products of low involvement showed women's higher figure in attitude toward advertising and purchasing intention. Examining attitude toward advertising, brand, and purchasing intention in consumers' gender in product types, rational products of high involvement usually showed high figure in all three fields, and emotional products of high involvement and rational products of low involvement showed high figure of attitude toward brand and purchasing intention in high age. This study is expected to expand theory to explain difference of consumers' gender, generation and job, suggesting guideline in field work of mobile banner advertising using humor appeal.
