Effects of a Taped-Problems with Time Delay Intervention on Addition Fact Fluency

수학 계산 능력에서 덧셈은 뺄셈, 곱셈, 나눗셈과 같은 복잡한 계산을 하는데 있어서 가장 기초적인 수리 능력이며 수학 영역에서 중요한 부분에 해당한다. 본 연구는 시간지연 테입 중재 프로그램이 학습장애 아동의 덧셈 능력 향상에 미치는 효과를 밝히고자 수행되었다. 본 연구의 대상은 수학 학습 장애로 진단된 2학년 아동이다. 본 연구는 중다기초선 설계를 사용하였으며 매 회 기간 숫자 1과 2가 들어가 17개의 덧셈 문제에서 분당 정답을 맞춘 수의 변화 과정을 밝혔다. 시간지연 테입 중재 프로그램을 사용한 결과 중재 전 기초선 단계에서 대상 아동은 숫자 1이 들어간 덧셈과 숫자 2가 들어간 17개의 덧셈 문제에서 1분간의 제한된 시간 동안 정확하게 정답을 맞춘 수는 각각 평균 4.3 과 4.6이었다. 그러나 12주간의 중재 기간 동안 대상 아동은 숫자 1과 숫자 2가 포함된 덧셈 문제에서 1분당 정답을 맞춘 수는 각각 17.8 과 14.5로 향상 되었다. 즉, 대상아동의 수학 계산 능력 뿐 만 아니라 수리 계산 능력의 정확도가 향상되었다.
Abstract
William who was identified as a learning disability in math was consistently displaying math problems that hindered his progress in the class. Basic addition facts were targeted for change because the teaching of addition facts is a necessary prerequisite to learning more complex math skills. Baseline data for the ones and twos showed a mean of 4.3 and 4.5 digits correct per minute, respectively. The goal of this consultation for William was to teach mastery of basic addition facts (17 correct per minute). An intervention using the taped-problems method of teaching addition facts was implemented. Data showed a marked improvement in both ones and twos following the implementation of this intervention.
