Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of conceptual subitizing on basic facts and subtitling of 1st and 2nd grade students with math learning disabilities. The research targets were three students with IQ 70 higher and lower than 16 percentile in the bottom of the basic math learning ability test. In order to find out the effect of intervention, multiple probe design across participants was applied. The effects of interventions were explored through visual analysis by presenting changes in basic facts capabilities in tables and graphs. The results of this study are as follows. First, the conceptual subitizing activity reached the intervention goal of student A 97.91%, student B 84.38%, and student C 100% in the basic facts accuracy of 1st and 2nd grades students with math learning disabilities. Second, conceptual subitizing activities brought about an improvement in the basic facts fluency of 1st and 2nd grades students with math learning disabilities and reduced the students' reaction time to basic facts tasks. Therefore, it is meaningful in this study that the conceptual subitizing activities applied in this study effectively influenced the improvement of basic facts of students with math learning disabilities, and based on the above results, opinions for the limitations of the study and subsequent studies were presented.
