정신지체 특수학교 재학생 어머니의 양육경험과 가족지원 요구에 대한 질적연구

장애아동의 부모와 성공적인 협력을 통한 교육을 실행하기 위하여 장애아동 어머니의 생활을 이해하고, 장애아동 어머니의 요구를 이해하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 정신지체 특수학교에 재학 중인 아동들의 어머니들을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하여 정신지체 특수학교에 재학 중인 자녀를 지닌 어머니의 자녀 양육경험과 가족지원 요구에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면, 정신지체 특수학교에 재학 중인 자녀를 지닌 어머니들로 구성된 면담 참여자들은 다음과 같은 양육경험과 가족지원 요구를 지녔음이 보고되었다. 첫째, 정서적 어려움을 경험하며 정서적 지원요구를 지닌다. 둘째, 사회적 소외감을 경험하며 사회적 인식개선 요구를 지닌다. 셋째, 교육 및 양육의 어려움을 경험하며 교육 및 양육관련 요구를 지니다. 넷째, 양육비용 문제로 어려움을 경험하며 경제적 지원요구를 지닌다. 다섯째, 자녀의 장래에 대해 염려를 하며 사회보장제도 개선에 대한 요구를 지닌다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of the mothers of children with mental retardation through a qualitative inquiry. Five mothers of children with disabilities participated interviews to share their experiences and support needs. From the qualitative analyses, five themes emerged: (1) emotional problems - emotional support needs, (2) the other persons' negative perspectives - social support needs, (3) concern about the education - educational support needs, (4) economic problems - economic support needs, (5) concern about the feature - social systemic support needs. Discussions and the implications for family support practices were provided.
