청소년의 형제·자매관계와 정서·행동문제의 관련성

본 연구는 중학생의 형제·자매관계의 특성과 정서·행동문제의 정도 및 유형을 파악하고 형제·자매관계가 정서·행동문제와 어떤 관련성이 있는지 알아보기 위해 G광역시에 소재하고 있는 중학교 1~3학년 학생들을 대상으로 실시된 조사연구이다. 2단계 군집무선표집을 통하여 선정된 911명의 학생들에게 설문지를 배부·회수한 결과 778부가 최종 자료분석에 사용되었는데 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 형제·자매관계의 하위요인 중 갈등의 평균이 특히 높았으며 그 다음은 상대적 지위/권력, 경쟁의식, 온정/친밀감의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, K-YSR로 측정된 정서·행동문제는 그 정도를 살펴보았을 때 11개의 척도에서 3.6%~20.4%가 임상범위에 있었으며 그 유형을 살펴보았을 때는 내재화 문제만, 외현화 문제만, 내면화 문제와 외현화 문제를 모두 보이는 비율이 각각 7.8%, 10.2%, 10.3%로 나타났다. 셋째, 형제·자매관계 측정도구의 4개 하위요인 점수와 K-YSR의 11개 척도 T점수와의 상관분석에서는 온정/친밀감은 3개의 척도(위축, 우울/불안, 내재화 문제)와, 갈등은 모든 11개 척도와, 상대적 지위/권력은 6개 척도(신체증상, 사고의 문제, 공격성, 내재화 문제, 외현화 문제, 총 문제행동)와, 그리고 경쟁의식은 사고의 문제를 제외한 10개 척도와 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다. 넷째, 형제·자매관계 측정도구의 4개 하위요인별로 K-YSR 11개 척도의 두 집단(임상집단과 정상집단)에 따른 t-검증을 실시한 차이분석에서는 온정/친밀감은 2개의 척도(위축, 사고의 문제)에서, 갈등은 6개 척도(우울/불안, 주의집중문제, 공격성, 내재화 문제, 외현화 문제, 총 문제행동)에서, 상대적 지위/권력은 2개 척도(신체증상, 내재화 문제)에서, 그리고 경쟁의식도 2개 척도(우울/불안, 총 문제행동)에서 임상집단과 정상집단에 따른 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이와 같은 결과는 관련 선행연구와 관련하여 논의되었으며 향후 과제나 관련연구를 위한 몇 가지 제언이 제시되었다.
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationships between sibling relations and emotional/behavioral problems in adolescents. To do this, 911 students who were attending at junior high schools in Gwangju were selected through two-stage cluster random sampling and were asked to complete a questionnaire. Out of 911 returned questionnaires, 778 questionnaires were used for data analyses to answer four research questions as follows: ① How are the sibling relations in junior high school students? ② How are the emotional/behavioral problems in junior high school students? ③ Are there any correlations between sibling relations and emotional/ behavioral problems in junior high school students? ④ Are there any differences in sibling relations according to emotional/ behavioral problems in junior high school students? The results of data analyses were presented in order of the four research questions. Finally, the results were discussed and several suggestions were presented for future related research.
