발달장애아동가족의 아동 교육기관 선정의 결정요인

본 연구는 현재 교육기관을 이용하는 발달장애아동 가족을 대상으로 아동의 교육환경 및 교육욕구를 현재 교육기관 유형에 따라 비교분석하고, 아동의 교육기관 선정에 영향을 미치는 결정요인을 규명하였다. 이를 위해 전국 140여개의 장애아전담 및 통합 교육기관을 이용하는 만 8세 이하의 장애아동가족을 대상으로 수집한 자료 중 862명의 발달장애아동가족의 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 아동의 희망교육기관과 교육기관 선택 기준에 있어 통합교육기관 이용 가족과 장애전담교육 기관 이용 가족 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특수교육 및 치료교육 서비스 욕구 수준에 있어서도 교육기관 유형에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 장애아동 무상교육지원 제도의 인식에서는 현재 이용하는 교육기관의 유형에 따라 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 현 교육기관 선정에 영향을 미치는 결정요인을 분석한 결과, 무상교육혜택의 여부, 반편성의 적절성, 아동 대 교사비율, 추가비용, 경제수준, 장애등급, 모의학력, 특수교육 및 치료교육 욕구가 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 실천적, 이론적 함의와 후속연구의 방향을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare educational needs of the families with disabled children based on the types of educational settings and to identify the determinants of the families' selection of educational settings for the disabled children. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted and 862 families of children with developmental disabilities participated. The result of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in expectation and preference of educational settings for their disabled children between families in special education systems and those in general education systems. In addition, there were also statistically significant differences in their special education needs and rehabilitation service needs, while there was no differences in perception of public education policies. In terms of determinants of selecting the educational settings for their children with developmental disabilities, regression analysis clearly showed that tuition free, monthly income, extra expenses, level of disability, ratio of teacher and child, and mothers' educational level were significant factors in selecting educational settings. Finally, based on the findings of the study, implications of services for the families of disabled children and recommendations for the further study were provided.
