본 연구는 장애아동의 가정에서 어머니가 비장애자녀를 양육하는 경험에 대해 심도 있게 조사하여 장애아동 가정에 대한 지원의 한 부분인 비장애자녀 지원의 방향을 알아보기 위한 목적으로 실시되었다. 본 연구에서는 서울특별시, 경기도, 대전광역시, 충청남도에 거주하며 학령기 장애자녀와 비장애자녀를 함께 양육하는 어머니 12명을 대상으로 포커스 집단면접을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 포커스 집단면접을 통해 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 6개의 주요 주제가 도출되었다: (1)안쓰러움, (2)미안함, (3)대견함, (4)유일한 희망, (5)무엇이든 해주고 싶음, (6)지원요구. 본 연구의 결과에 따라 장애아동의 어머니에게 비장애자녀 양육과 관련한 지원이 요구되며, 장애아동 가정에 돌봄서비스를 포함하는 전반적 가족지원이 요구되며, 장애아동의 비장애 형제자매에 대한 직접적이며 상시적인 지원이 필요함이 논의되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of the mothers who take care of the children with disabilities and their siblings through a qualitative inquiry. Twelve mothers of children with disabilities and their siblings participated in this qualitative study. The focus group was used as a main data collection method. From the qualitative analyses, six themes emerged from the focus groups: (1)pitiful, (2)sorry, (3)satisfactory, (4)hope, (5)devoted, (6)support needs. Discussions and the implications for family support practices were provided.
