부적응 도식과 경계선 성격 성향의 관련성에서 부적응적 방어의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 부적응 도식과 경계선 성격 성향의 관련성에서 부적응적 방어의 매개효과를 가정하고, 이를 검증해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울과 수도권에 거주하는 18세 이상 성인남녀 420명이었으며, 한국판 도식질문지(Young Schema Questionnaire), 한국판 방어유형 질문지(Korea-Defense Style Questionnaire), 경계선 성격장애 척도(Personality Assessment Inventory-Borderline Features Scale; PAI-BOR)를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부적응 도식의 성향이 강하게 나타날수록 경계선 성격 성향이 높게 나타났으며, 부적응적 방어(미성숙, 자기억제, 갈등회피)를 많이 사용할수록 경계선 성격 성향이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 부적응 도식과 경계선 성격 성향의 관련성에서 부적응적 방어의 매개효과를 알아본 결과 부적응적 방어는 부적응 도식과 경계선 성격 성향 사이를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 부적응 도식은 경계선 성격 성향에 직접적인 영향을 줄 뿐만 아니라, 부적응적 방어를 매개로 하여 간접적으로도 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 본 연구의 연구모형의 적합도를 검증한 결과, 부분매개모형인 연구모형의 모형적합성이 검증되었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 한계 그리고 후속연구를 위한 제언에 대하여 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study investigated the correlations among the borderline personality traits, maladaptive schemas, and maladaptive defense. For this reserch, four hundred twenty nine male and female adults over eighteen years old were administered with The Young schema questionnaire, Korea-defense style questionnaire and personality assessment inventory borderline features scale. The results were as follows: First, the borderline personality traits had a statistically significant positive correlation with maladaptive schemas and maladaptive defense. The multiple regression analyses by using variables such as maladaptive schemas and maladaptive defense showed significant accountability for borderline personality traits. Second, maladaptive defense showed a partial mediating effect on the relationships between maladaptive schemas and borderline personality traits directly or indirectly. Further, the path model showed the significant mediating effect of defense styles through Bootstrap test. Finally, the implication and limitation of the study were discussed, and suggestions for future studies were also presented.
