청각장애 청소년의 농 정체성 형성과정에 관한 현상학적 연구

이 연구에서는 청각장애 청소년의 농 정체성 형성과정에서의 경험의 의미를 명확히 이해하기 위해, 청각장애 청소년 4명을 대상으로 심층면접, 참여관찰 등의 방법을 통하여 자료수집하였고, 현상학적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 청각장애 청소년의 농 정체성 형성과정은 가면으로 가려지기 전의 ‘나’, 가면으로 가려진 ‘나’, 가면의 ‘고통’, ‘가면’의 인식, ‘가면’을 벗으려는 시도, 가면을 벗는 과정에서의 ‘혼란’, 혼란 속의 ‘안정’, 미래에 대한 ‘희망’ 등으로 나타났다. 청각장애 청소년의 농 정체성 형성과정은 이로써 종결된 것이 아니라 앞으로도 계속 진행되는 것이며, 이전보다 점차 본래의 자신의 모습을 찾아가고, 농인으로서의 ‘나’에 대하여 긍정적인 태도를 취하게 됨으로써 이후에는 보다 발전된 농 정체성이 형성하게 될 것을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study is to understand the meaning of the experience for Deaf identity formation process of Deaf youths. For this, it is collected the resources through participation observation and in-depth interview, and used the phenomenological study method in analysis process. The Deaf identity formation process of Deaf youths displayed to experience of ‘I’ before masked, ‘I’ masked, ‘Agony’ of mask, acknowledgement of ‘Mask,’ removable try of ‘Mask,’‘Confusion’ in the process of removing the mask, ‘Secure’ in the midst of the confusion, ‘Hope’ for the future. The Deaf identity formation of Deaf youths was not finished, but it is processed. The better process of the Deaf identity which the Deaf youth could be gaining the positive attitude toward ‘I’.
