본 연구는 LCSI성격검사(Lim's Character Style Inventory)의 5요인(도전성, 사교성, 수용성, 신중성, 안정성)과 NEO-PI-R성격검사( The Revised NEO-Personality Inventory, Costa & McCrae, 1992)의 5요인(외향성, 친화성, 신경증, 개방성, 성실성)간의 상관연구를 통해 LCSI성격검사의 타당성을 검증하려고 하였다. 연구대상은 총 508명(남자 225명, 여자 283명)이었다. 연구방법은 상관분석과 일원변량분석(One-Way ANOVA)을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, LCSI성격검사의 5요인과 NEO-PI-R성격검사의 5요인 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 LCSI성격검사의 5요인이 측정하고자 한 것이 NEO-PI-R성격검사의 5요인과의 상관을 통해 잘 설명되고 있어 LCSI성격검사검사가 타당하다고 여겨진다. 둘째, LCSI성격검사 4유형에 따른 NEO-PI-R성격검사의 5요인의 일원변량분석을 통해 NEO-PI-R성격검사의 5요인 중 대인관계와 관련이 있는 친화성과 외향성이 LCSI성격검사의 4유형에 어떻게 나타나는 지를 살펴본 결과 LCSI성격검사가 유형론을 만들 때 가정했던 것이 비교적 잘 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과가 가지는 의미를 후속연구를 위해 제언하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of the present study is to verify the validity of LCSI (Lim's Character Style Inventory) Personality Test through analyzing the correlation between LCSI Personality Test and NEO-PI-R (Revised NEO-Personality Inventory) Personality Test. A survey was conducted on a total of 508 subjects composed of college students who were taking psychology-related papers and ordinary people participating in group counseling. Among the subjects, 225 were male and 283 were female. Conclusions drawn from this study are as follows. First, according to the result of analyzing the correlations between the five factors of LCSI Personality Test and the five factors of NEO-PI-R Personality Test, challenging in LCSI showed a positive correlation with Extroversion and sincerity in NEO-PI-R and a negative correlation with friendliness in NEO-PI-R. Sociality in LCSI showed a positive correlation with Extroversion and openness in NEO-PI-R. Acceptability in LCSI showed a positive relation with friendliness in NEO-PI-R and a negative correlation with extroversion. Second, according to the result of examining how friendliness and extroversion, which are related to interpersonal relations among the five factors in NEO-PI-R Personality Test, are represented in the four types in LCSI Personality Test through one-way ANOVA on the five factors of NEO-PI-R according to the four types in LCSI, friendliness in NEO-PI-R was highest in introvert feeling and lowest in extrovert thinking among the four types in LCSI. Extroversion in NEO-PI-R was highest in extrovert feeling and lowest in introvert thinking among the four types in LCSI. The results of this study show that there is a correlation between LCSI Personality Test and NEO-PI-R Personality Test. The implications and limitations of this study were mentioned.
