본 연구는 멀티미디어 기반 상황이야기 중재가 자폐성장애 학생의 문제행동 및 의사소통행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 경남 M시 특수학교에 재학 중인 자폐성장애 학생 2명을 대상으로 수업상황에서 시점을 달리하여 중재를 실시하였으며, 행동간 중다 간헐 기초선 설계가 적용되었다. 중재 단계는 기초선, 중재 1, 중재 2, 유지단계 순으로 진행되었다. 중재 과정에서 수집된 자료는 시각적으로 분석되었으며, 동시에 각 행동의 발생률이 백분율로 환산되어 단계별로 제시되었다. 연구의 결과, 자폐성장애 학생들의 문제행동이 감소되었고, 의사소통행동은 증가되었다. 결론적으로, 멀티미디어 기반 상황이야기 중재는 의사소통 능력 부족에 의한 자폐성장애 학생의 문제행동을 감소시키고, 의사소통능력을 향상시키는데 효과적인 방법임을 확인시켜주고 있다. 이 연구는 최근 발전되고 있는 멀티미디어를 상황이야기와 접목시켜 수업 상황에서 중재함으로써 문제해결 전략을 확대시켰다는데 의의가 있다. 학생 두 명을 시점을 달리 하여 중재를 실시하였기 때문에 연구의 타당도를 높이기 위해 중재충실도를 검증하였다. 그러나 함께 수업에 참여한 학생들의 행동 변화를 관찰 분석하지 못한 제한점이 있다. 앞으로 참여 학생의 수, 상황 조건, 기법 등 변인을 확대시켜 연구함으로서 실제에 적용할 수 있는 중재 방법으로 발전시킬 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study examined the effect of multimedia based social stories intervention on problem behavior and communication of students with autism. With two 1st graders with autism in high school and middle division of a special school in M city, Gyeongnam as a subject, intervention was implemented in class setting at different times, and multiple probe design across behaviors was applied. Intervention phases were implemented in the order of baseline, intervention 1, intervention 2, and maintenance. Data collected in process of intervention were visually analysed, and at the same time, behavioral occurrence rate for each behavior was calculated in percentage and presented by phase. As a result of the study, problem behaviors of the students with autism were decreased and communication behaviors of them were increased. In conclusion, this study confirms that multimedia based social stories intervention is a positive and efficient method for decreasing problem behaviors of students with autism caused by lack of communication skills, and improving their communication abilities. This study has significant implication in terms that it enforced problem solving method by integrating social stories with multimedia, which is currently improving, and by intervening in class setting. As intervention was implemented on two students at different times, intervention fidelity was verified to raise the validity of the study.
