반려동물 사육활동이 자폐스펙트럼장애 학생의 사회적 상호작용기술에 미치는 효과

이 연구는 반려동물 사육활동 프로그램을 이용하여 고등학교 1학년에 재학 중인 자폐스펙트럼장애 학생의 의사소통, 반응행동, 친사회적 상호작용 기능에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 실시되었다. 연구도구로는 단일대상연구방법 중 하나인 행동간 중다 간헐 기초선 설계(multiple probe baseline across behaviors)로 총 회기 수는 기초선, 중재, 유지 과정 총 17회기로 구성되었다. 연구결과에 따라 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 반려동물 사육활동 프로그램은 자폐스펙트럼장애 학생의 ‘의사소통’ 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 반려동물 사육활동 프로그램은 자폐스펙트럼장애 학생의 ‘반응행동’ 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 반려동물 사육활동 프로그램은 자폐스펙트럼장애 학생의 ‘상호작용기술’ 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 이와 같이 본 연구에서 적용된 반려동물 사육활동 프로그램은 자폐스펙트럼장애 학생의 신체적 감각을 자극하고, 또래들과의 유대관계와 인지능력 및 심리․정서적으로 안정감을 향상시킨다는 것을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of animal-assisted behavioral interventions on communication, social, interpersonal skills in high school students with autism spectrum Disorder. We employed a method called “multiple probe baseline across the behaviors”, a type of single subject research, and performed a total of 17 assessments during the baseline, progress, and maintenance phase. The conclusion of the research is the following: First, the animal-assisted behavioral interventions showed a positive effect on communication skills in the study subjects. Second, the animal-assisted behavioral interventions showed a positive effect on social skills in the study subjects. Third, the animal-assisted behavioral interventions showed a positive effect on interpersonal skills in the study subjects. As demonstrated in this study, the animal-assisted behavioral interventions stimulated sensory levels, improved a level of attachment to peers, and finally ameliorated emotional and psychological stabilities in adolescents with autism spectrum Disorder.
