생명보험 독립대리점(GA)에 대한 탐색적 연구: 경영전략을 중심으로*

이 논문은 생명보험 독립대리점(GA)의 경영 현황과 전략을 GA 경영진에 대한 설문을 통해서 탐색적으로 연구하였다. 특히 모집사용인 100인 이상 대형GA와 그렇지 않은 중소형GA 사이를 비교하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, GA는 판매인력 인프라나 보험업 수행 능력에서 선진형 독립대리점의 역량을 갖추지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 GA는 향후 금융상품판매전문회사로의 성장을 기대하고 있으나, 이를 내부역량보다는 제도 등 외생적 요인을 통해서 이루어지기를 기대하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 선진형 GA로의 성장은 보험사와의 적절한 협력을 통해서 이루어질 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.
Abstract
This study investigates the business status and management strategy of life insurance independent agencies(hereafter GA) by the analysis of management's survey. Research emphasis is given to the difference between 'Large' GAs with more than 100 agents and 'Small-&-Medium' GAs. The analysis result shows that GAs have not acquired the competence of 'the first class independent agencies' in terms of sales force's infrastructure and insurance business performance. GAs hope to become 'Independent Financial Companies' with the help of government's policy change rather than with their own competitiveness in the market. Therefore, we believe that the future success of GAs could be achieved through their strong cooperation with insurers.
