본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 행동활성화/행동억제체계와 역기능적 부모양육태도가 도박행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 인지적 유연성의 조절 및 매개효과를 확인하는 것이다. 최근 대학생들의 도박 참여율이 증가하면서 학업 성취 저하, 재정적 문제, 심리적 불안정 등의 부정적 결과가 사회적으로 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 따라서 대학생의 도박행동을 예방하고 개입 전략을 마련하기 위해 심리적 요인에 대한 연구가 필수적이다. 본 연구는 대학생의 도박행동을 예측하는 주요 심리⋅환경적 변인을 분석하고, 이를 통해 예방 및 개입 전략을 모색하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기, 인천 및 기타 지역(강원, 경상, 충청, 전라)에 거주하는 대학생을 대상으로 질문지를 실시하여 총 401부가 회수되었고 이들 모두 자료 분석에 사용되었다. 자료 분석은 평균, 표준편차, 빈도분석, 독립표본 t-검정, Pearson의 상관관계분석, 단계적 및 위계적 중다회귀분석을 통해 처리되었다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 도박행동을 예측하는 변인은 역기능적 부모양육태도(거부), 성별, 행동활성화체계(재미추구), 인지적 유연성(대안)의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생의 행동활성화/행동억제체계가 도박행동에 미치는 영향에 대해 인지적 유연성은 각각 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생이 지각한 역기능적 부모양육태도(거부, 과보호)가 도박행동에 미치는 영향에 대해 인지적 유연성은 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 후속 연구에 대한 제언과 시사점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating and mediating effects of cognitive flexibility in the relationship between college students’ behavioral activation/inhibition system and dysfunctional parenting attitudes and their gambling behavior. Recently, the increasing participation of college students in gambling has emerged as an important social issue due to negative consequences such as decreased academic achievement, financial problems, and psychological instability. Therefore, research on psychological factors is essential for developing preventive measures and intervention strategies regarding gambling behavior among college students. This study aims to analyze key psychological and environmental variables predicting college students’ gambling behavior and seeks to explore strategies for prevention and intervention. Questionnaire was administered to college students residing in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and other regions (Gangwon, Gyeongsang, Chungcheong, Jeolla) and a total of 401 copies were collected and used for analysis. The data were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation, frequency analysis, independent samples t-test, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and stepwise and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The main results of this study are as follows. First, dysfunctional parenting attitudes (rejection), gender, behavioral activation system (fun seeking), and cognitive flexibility (alternative) predicted college students’ gambling behavior. Second, college students’ cognitive flexibility was found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between behavioral activation/behavioral inhibition systems and their gambling behavior respectively. Third, college students’ cognitive flexibility was found to have a mediating effect on the relationship between perceived dysfunctional parenting attitudes (rejection, overprotection) and their gambling behavior. Based on these findings, suggestions and implications for future research were discussed.
