남녀 고등학생의 충동성과 도박행동의 관계에서 비합리적 도박신념의 매개효과

본 연구의 목적은 남녀 고등학생의 충동성과 비합리적 도박신념이 도박행동에 미치는영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 부산, 경남지역 소재 남녀 고등학생 784명을 대상으로 충동성 척도, 비합리적 도박신념 척도, 청소년 도박행동 척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 주요 변인들 간의 관련성을 살펴보기 위해 상관관계 분석을 실시하였고, 남녀 고등학생의 비합리적 도박신념이 충동성과 도박행동간의 관계에서 매개하는지를 알아보기 위하여 매개모형 검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구를통하여 밝혀진 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 도박행동과 충동성 및 비합리적 신념은남녀 모두 정적 상관을 보였다. 또한 충동성과 비합리적 도박신념도 남녀 모두 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 남자 고등학생의 비합리적 도박신념은 충동성이 도박행동에 미치는영향에서 완전매개효과를 보였다. 반면 여자 고등학생의 비합리적 도박신념은 충동성이도박행동에 미치는 영향에서 부분매개효과를 보였다. 이상의 결과에서 남녀 고등학생은충동성이 강하고 비합리적 도박신념이 강할수록 도박행동으로 이어질 수 있으며 특히남자 고등학생의 경우 비합리적 도박신념을 줄일 수 있도록 돕는다면 충동성이 높아도도박행동으로 이어지지 않을 가능성이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 후속연구에 대한 제언과 시사점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of impulsivity and irrational gambling beliefs on gambling behaviors of high school students. For this purpose, 784 high school students in Busan and Kyungnam area were surveyed using the impulsiveness scale, the irrational gambling belief scale, and the youth gambling behavior scale. A correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship among the main variables on the basis of the collected data. A median model test was conducted to find out if the irrational gambling beliefs mediated the relationship between impulsiveness and gambling behavior. The main results revealed through this study are as follows. Firstly, gambling behaviors, impulsiveness and irrational beliefs were statistically correlated. As were impulsiveness and irrational gambling beliefs. Secondly, the irrational gambling beliefs of high school boys showed a full mediation effect on impulsive gambling behavior. On the other hand, the irrational gambling beliefs of female high school students showed a partial mediation effect on the impulsive gambling behavior. The results of this study suggest that higher impulsiveness and irrational gambling beliefs can lead to gambling activity. Even if the impulsiveness remains the same, a reduction in irrational gambling beliefs can lead to a reduction in gambling activity in male high school students.
