이 논문은 동성애에 대해 구약이 어떻게 말하고 있는지에 대한 연구이다. 필자는 이 논제를 토라와 역사서를 중심으로 구약의 정경배열을 따라 고찰했다. 그 연구 결과 몇 가지 결론을 내렸다. 첫째, 토라는 불법적 성 행위와 함께 동성애에 대해 도덕적이든 제의적이든 간에 행하지 말 것을 경고한다. 토라는 언약 백성의 삶을 규정짓는 근본적 원리이기에 동성애 금지는 언약 백성이 반드시 지켜야 할 명령이었다. 둘째, 역사서는 이런 토라의 경고에도 불구하고 동성애가 여전히 이스라엘에서 행해지고 있었다고 보고한다. 또한 역사서는 유다에서 일부 왕들이 언약에 근거한 개혁의 대상으로 동성애를 삼았었다고 보고한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 토라에서 경고했던 동성애를 포함한 불법적 성 행위는 이스라엘과 유다의 멸망의 원인 중 하나의 요소로 작용하였다. 이런 구약의 가르침은 역사 상대주의자들의 주장처럼 우리와 상관이 없는 이스라엘을 위한 규정이 아니라 우리의 신앙과 행위를 궁극적인 권위인하나님의 말씀이다. 따라서 우리는 이 문제를 매우 진지하게 다루어야 한다. 그러므로 교회는 동성애대한 두 가지 태도가 필요하다. 하나는 동성애가 죄라는 분명한 입장과 동시에 거룩한 성문화를 건설하기 위한 개혁 운동이 필요이다. 다른 하나는 우리가 그리스도의 복음과 사랑의 빛 아래서 동성애 자들을 어떤 대해야 하는지에 대한 진지한 성찰과 대안을 마련해야 한다.
Abstract
This article is a study of What does the Old Testament speaks about homosexuality. I reviewed this thesis along with the arrangement of the Old Testament in the Torah and the historical books of Old Testament. I concluded several conclusions. First, the Tora warns against doing homosexuality with illegal sexual activity, whether it is moral or ritual. Because the Torah is a fundamental principle that defines the life of the covenant people, the prohibition of homosexuality was a mandatory command of the covenant people. Second, despite the warnings of this Torah, historical books of OT reported as homosexuality still being practiced in Israel. On the other hand, some kings in Judah had made homosexuality a subject of covenant-based reform. Nonetheless, illegal sexual practices, including homosexuality, which warned of Torah, acted as a factor in the destruction of Israel and Judah. This teaching of Old Testament is not a provision for Israel that has nothing to do with us, as the arguments of historical relativists, but the word of God, the ultimate authority of our faith and deeds. So we have to deal with this problem very seriously. Therefore, the church needs two attitudes about homosexuality. One is the need for a reformist movement to build a holy sexual culture with a clear position of homosexuality as sin. The other should provide a serious reflection and an alternative to what we should treat homosexuals in the light of the gospel and love of Christ.
