본 연구는 Greek New Testament 5판(UBS5, 2014)의 출판에 따른 공동서신 부분 의 구두점이 변경된 부분에 대한 번역 논의를 다룬다. UBS5가 2014년에 출판되 면서 Novum Testament Graece 28판(NA28, 2012)에 따라 공동서신 부분의 본문이 변경되었는데, 이 때 그 변경이 자구에만 제한되지 않고 구두점에까지 확장되 었기 때문이다. UBS5의 경우 UBS3과 비교해 야고보서 23회(삽입 10, 삭제 5, 변 경 8), 베드로전서 42회(삽입 13, 삭제 24, 변경 5), 베드로후서 29회(삽입 4, 삭 제21, 변경4), 요한일서35회(삽입22, 삭제4, 변경9) 및유다서2회(삽입0, 삭제 1, 변경 1)가 변경되었다(제2장). 그럼에도 불구하고, 자구적 의미 변경이 아닌 구두점 변경은 관심을 받지 못했다. 그러나 성경 번역에 있어서는 자구뿐 만 아니라 구두점까지 번역자에게 영향을 준다. 특별히 국역 성경들은 NA판 전통이나 UBS판을 대본으로 하여 번역되었다. 따라서 NA28과 UBS5의 출현은 현재국역성경들의번역상태에질문을야기하고또한향후번역에대한준비 를 요구한다. 본 논문에서 앞서 제시한 변경 부분들을 분류해 의미의 변화를 야기할 변경 사항을 논의하고(제3장) 그에 따른 번역을 제시했다.
Abstract
This article deals with some issues of changes of punctuations in the Catholic Letters of Greek New Testament, 5th edition(UBS5, 2014) and their translations. The start of this study is because, when GBS5 was published in 2014 based on Novum Testament Graece, 28th edition(NA28, 2012), the text of the Catholic Letter have changed, however, not limited to spellings of its text, but expanded into punctuations. Thus punctuations in the Catholic Letter of UBS5 changed 23 times in James(Insertions 10, Deletions 5, Changes 8), 42 times in 1 Peter(13, 24, 5 in order), 29 times in 2 Peter(4, 21, 4 in order), 35 times in 1 John(22, 4, 9 in order) and twice in Jude(0, 1, 1 in order) in comparison with UBS3(chap. 2). Nonetheless of such huge changes, the punctuation issue has not be concerned up to now. However, translators are doubtlessly influenced not only by spell- ings of a text, but also by its punctuations. Besides, most Korean Bible trans- lations used NA editions or UBS ones as their original texts for translation. Therefore, changes of punctuations as well as spellings in UBS5/NA28 request both to review the condition of existing Korean translations and to prepare for future translation(s). To stimulate such a reseach, this article tries to ex- plain those changes and suggests provisional translations(chap. 3)
