루터의 칭의론에 비추어 본 세례 이후 죄(péché)의 문제: 루터(M. Luther)와 라토무스(J. Latomus)의 논쟁과 관련하여

이 논문은 16세기 종교개혁가 루터와 그 당시 로마 가톨릭의 신학자 라토무 스와 논쟁을 근간으로 신학적 주제를 다룬다. 이들이 논쟁하는 핵심 주제는 “세례 이후의 죄의 문제”이다. 칠성례를 중시하는 로마 가톨릭교회는 “세례 는 죄를 제거한다”고 강조하지만, 루터는 “세례 이후에도 여전히 죄는 남아 있다”다고 반박한다. 세례 이후에도 여전히 죄가 존재한다면, 세례받은 자가 행하는 공덕도 죄가 된다. 결국, 세상에는 의인이 하나도 없다는 결론을 낸 다. 이런 루터의 신학은 당시 가톨릭교회에 신학적인 큰 문제를 일으켰고 루 터와 그의 신학을 정죄하기에 이른다. 이 “세례 이후의 죄의 문제”를 다루는 논박문은 루터가 강조하는 칭의론을 엿볼 수 있다. 무엇보다 라토무스와의 이 논박은 우리 그리스도인이 실제의 삶에서 고민하는 구원 이후의 죄의 문제를 어떻게 이해하고 어떻게 죄와 싸 워나가야하는지에대해중요한답을주고있다. 우리는이논쟁을통해루 터는세례이전과이후의차이점, 세례의개념, 죄의문제, 칭의와믿음의의 미등을포괄적으로이해할수있게될것이다. “세례이후에도죄가남아있다”라는 루터의 논제는 믿음은 단회적, 인식론적, 고백론적 차원 이상이라는 것을 시사한다. 또한, 그리스도인이 되는 것은 철저하게 하나님의 은혜에 기 초하며, 세례 이후에도 끊임없이 겸손하게 하나님의 은혜에 의지하여 죄와 싸워야 하는 존재라는 것을 환기한다. 이 논문을 통해 루터의 언약 사상과 구원 이후의 믿음의 삶에 대해 이해할 수 있게 될 것이다.
Abstract
This article aime to study the theological the theological topics based on the controversy of the 16 century between the reformer Martin Luther and the catholic theologian Jacobus Latomus. The main subject is ‘the question of sin after baptism’. The Catholic Church which emphasizes the 7 sacra- ments of the Catholic Church attests that baptism takes away sin, while Luther says that "sin remains after baptism" opposing this traditional theology. According to Luther, as sin remains even after baptism, the works of the baptized are not without sin and there is no righteous man on earth. Luther’s theology caused a great scandal in the Roman Catholic Church and this church excommunicated and condemned Luther. From this debate, we can know the theology of justification in Luther. In particular, this refutation against Latomus gives answers to the questions of the Christian life after baptism and the way of life against sin. We can comprehensively understand the christian Identity before and after baptism, the concept of baptism, the problem of sin, and the meaning of justification and faith of Luther. The thesis of "sin remains after baptism" helps to under- stand Christian faith is beyond momentary, cognitive and confessional faith. In addition, Luther reminds us that being a Christian is based on faith and that the Christian continues to fight against sin in faith and grace. Through these studies, we can understand covenant theology and Christian life after baptism in Luther.
