Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the impacts of operations strategy on both inter and intra-firm collaboration, and finally collaboration performance in supply chain. Operations strategy has four competitive priorities such as cost, quality, flexibility and delivery strategy and, in reality, these four dimensions of operations strategy are established not exclusively but complementarily. As a result, according to how do firms mix differently those competitive priorities, collaboration activity and performance results in supply chain may be changed. Using sample data from 250 Korean firms, this study examines the relationship among operations strategy, inter and intra-firm collaboration and collaboration performance through structural equation modeling. The results suggest that cost and flexibility strategy are significantly associated with intra-firm collaboration activity and quality, flexibility and delivery strategy are more highly related inter-firm collaboration activity. The results also provide that both inter and intra-firm collaboration activity have a positive effects on collaboration performance significantly. Finally, some implications on analyzed results are discussed.
