오늘날 동작예술로 인식된 춤은 동작의 무작위적 형태 현상은 아니다. 그것은 조직적이고 심미적인 체계적인 지적작용의 산물인 것이다. 이러한 춤 예술의 표현은 그 기본적인 바탕이 물리적인 실상으로부터 모방을 통하여 춤의 기원이나 역사가 설정되어 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 그 표현 기법들은 시대적 배경에 의해 지배되어 시대적 양식에 따라 보편적 진실을 갖게 되었다. 이러한 측면에서 이 연구는 춤의 보편적 진실을 표현하는데 객관적인 측면만이 아닌 주관적인 측면에서도 모방에 근거한 표현기법을 사용할 수 있을 것이라는 추측에서 비롯되었다. 그 전개 방법에 있어서는 모방의 개념에 대한 역사적 배경을 시대별로 살펴보고 모방 춤론에 관한 시대 양식사적으로 연결하였다. 그리고 춤에 있어서 진정한 표현의 의미는 무엇인가에 대하여 논하고 춤의 표현에 대한 고유의 특징적인 성격을 제시하였다. 또한 춤은 리얼리티한 형태에 가능하기 위하여 모방에 근거한 특징적인 표현기법들이 외래적으로, 내재적으로 어떠한 구조로 형성되었는지를 알아보는데 있어서 객관적 근거이론을 제시하였다. 아울러 예술로서 춤이 모방의 양식에 따라 그 위치와 춤의 역사와의 상호관계를 파악하고 ‘미메시스’의 가치를 부여하는데 그 의의를 두고 있다. 그래서 이 연구는 춤의 실제에 직접적인 도움을 주기보다는 근원적인 역량을 재고하는데 그 제한점을 두며 역사적 측면을 통한 춤의 흐름을 고찰함으로써 춤에 대한 표현의 본질을 ‘미메시스’에 두었다.
Abstract
Dance as an artistic expression has incessantly been handed down in pursuit of ingenuous truth since the ancient time. We can in this thesis I intend to investigate the theoretical criteria of the imitative character and function of dance. To recognize the dance phenomena it is presupposed that the expression techniques extrinsically or intrisically bear the imitative character and function. It is said that art is a sort merger whether it takes an objective modality or by the use of internal consciousness and techniques. In this context the artistic expression comes from the close interrelationship of the expression consisting in the formative externality and narrative, denotative and depictive internality. In the course of searching for truth, the objective aspect is acquired through reality and the subective aspect is acquired through image. The merger of both aspects confirms that the essence and phenomena of dance are recogenized in the realistic mimesis. In the light of such assumptions the depicting method approaches reality, and affirms the theory of mimesis both in the creativity and in the expressing the art of dance.
