정신과 대립되는 신체는 문명·자연, 영혼·물질, 남성·여성 등과 같은 대립에서 사회를 경험하는 실체로서의 관심이 높아졌으며, 그것이 놓여있는 사회적 관계와 힘에 의해 영향을 받는 사회적 구성물로 인식되고, 이러한 인식의 전환은 댄스스포츠에서도 무관하지 않다. 요컨대 신체는 인간의 인식과 지각의 주체이며, 신체이미지는 인간 모두에게 익숙한 소통의 매개이다. 한편 댄스스포츠에 나타나는 신체는 남·녀커플의 완전성을 이루는 신체이미지의 결정적인 역할을 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ‘댄스스포츠에 표현된 신체이미지의 상징성’이라는 주제 아래 신체를 매체로 미학적 관점에서 상징성을 해석하였다. 첫째, 댄스스포츠는 종목별로 나타나는 하나의 기호이며, 둘째, 댄스스포츠의 신체 움직임은 정해진 룰에 의한 피겨(figure)의 동작에 의해 상징 기호처럼 사용되고, 셋째, 역사와 문화에 따라 재현양식은 다양하게 존재하지만, 댄스스포츠의 작품은 춤의 특성적인 접근을 요구하는 것과 마찬가지의 구성(unit)을 재현한다. 넷째, 신체이미지는 댄스스포츠의 실재를 새롭게 볼 수 있게 만들어 주는 것이다. 결론적으로 댄스스포츠는 신체이미지 구성을 재현하는 상징 해석으로 나타나며, 댄스스포츠작품이 다양한 방법으로 접근 가능하고, 신체움직임을 통한 종목별 표현형식은 상징 해석을 통해 드러나게 된다. 결국 이러한 과정은 댄스스포츠작품의 미학적 차원에서 고찰되고, 담론적 가능성을 만들어내는 것이 본 논문의 핵심이며, 상징에 대한 새로운 관점을 구성하는 것이다.
Abstract
As the interests as the substance experiencing the society in the conflicts like civilization and nature, soul and material, and men and women are increasing, the body which is conflicting with the spirits is recognized as social composition which is affected by social relationship and power, and this change in recognition is not irrelevant with dance sport. In other words, the body is the subject of human cognizance and perception and body image is familiar medium of communication to all human beings. On the one hand, the body in dance sport plays a decisive role in body image which composes the completeness between man and woman couple. Therefore, under the subject of ‘symbolization of body image expressed in dance sport’, this study interpreted the symbolization of the body as the medium from aesthetic viewpoints. First, dance sport is a symbol which is shown in each sports, Second, body movements in dance sport are used like symbols by the figure movements according to predetermined rules, Third, regarding body image symbol in dance sport, reproduction patterns diversely exist according to history and culture, but dance sport works are reproducing a certain characteristic units just like demanding distinctive approaches. Fourth, body image is to make the existence of dance sport newly looked. In conclusion, a dance sport is a symbolic interpretation to reproduce the composition of body images because dance sport works can be approached in various ways and all kinds of symbol interpretations are allowed. And, core of this study is that these procedures are studied from the aesthetic level of dance sport and make discourse possibility, and new viewpoints about symbol can be organized.
