한국 체육학에서 현상학적 연구와 방법적 적합성

본 연구는 한국 체육철학 영역에서 발표된 현상학적 연구, 혹은 현상학적 접근에서 발견되는 방법론적 성향과 난점을 드러내고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 영미권 스포츠철학에서 제기되어 온 현상학적 연구에 대한 비판적 반성에서 제기된 문제점을 종합하였다. 이 과정에서 스포츠 연구에서의 현상학적 접근은 심리적 주관주의, 소박한 실재주의라는 문제를 안고 있음을 종합하였다. 이러한 문제점들을 우리 체육철학 영역의 현상학적 연구에서 확인하였다. 첫째, 우리의 현상학 연구에서 제시하고 있는 현상은 후설 현상학에서 말하는 현상에 부합하지 않으며, 단순히 스포츠 상황에서 경험하는 심적 사실에 의존하고 있다. 둘째, 대다수의 현상학적 연구들은 심적 사실을 담은 기술, 또는 면담 자료를 수집하고 그러한 자료들이 담고 있는 공통점을 본질이라고 규정하고 있다. 이는 후설이 현상학을 통하여 비판하고 있는 실증과학의 일반화 태도를 반복하는 것이다. 이와 같이 우리 체육철학 영역에서의 현상학적 연구는 방법적으로 정당화되기 어렵다.
Abstract
This study is aimed to reflect the phenomenological researches in the field of sport philosophy in Korea. This essay have two main parts. Firstly, I reviewed three articles which criticized phenomenological researches in USA, and Europe; Daniel S. Kerry and Kathleen M. Armour (2000), Irena Martínková and Jim Parry (2012), Jan Halák, Ivo Jirásek, and Mark Stephen Nesti (2014). Secondly, I analysed phenomenological researches of Korean sport philosophers. As a result, I insisted that phenomenological researches in the field of Korean sport philosophy have serious problems in method. Sport phenomena in their researches are not phenomena of Husserl, but only mental facts(phenomenalism). Especially, we can't find phenomenological description based on the epoche, or bracketing, and eidetic reflection in the articles.
