Abstract

This paper critically investigates transfeminism maintained by Catherine Keller from the perspective of a Reformed evangelical theology. It focuses on the three basic concepts of Keller’s thought, namely, “quantum entanglement,” “the fold” and the new materialism, more concretely, “the apophatic matter.” Even though Keller’s transfeminism may present some challenges to the evangelical theology, such as the need to develop a new Christian philosophical reflections from the discovery of quantum physics, it certainly has a great danger to lead to sexual laxity and promiscuity by approving all kinds of sexual orientations, such as LGBTQIA. From an Evangelical perspective, the faith in God the creator of all things, visible and invisible must be reaffirmed for the postmodern context in order to restore the true foundation of human dignity as the image of God and also for the proper relation between man and woman and further that between the human beings and the nature. The true Christian vision for the human beings and the proper relations to each other and to the nature can only be provided by the new order of the Kingdom of God established by the saving work of Jesus Christ.
