본 논문에서 우리는 도르트 신경의 성도의 견인 교리 조항들이 가진특징을 현대 조직신학의 성도의 견인 교리 및 웨스트민스터 신앙고백서의 조항들과 대조하며 파악하고자 하였다. 연구를 통해 발견한 것들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 도르트 신경의 성도의 견인 교리 조항들은 견인 교리 외에도 성화, 작정, 회개, 확신 교리의 내용들을 포함하여 제시하는 구조를갖고 있었다. 둘째, 도르트 신경의 성도의 견인 교리 조항들의 전반부는특히 성화에 대한 내용들을 많이 다루는 가운데 하나님의 보전과 성도의견인을 제시한다. 셋째, 도르트 신경의 성도의 견인 교리 조항들의 후반부는 확신에 대해 주로 다루면서 성도의 견인을 제시한다. 넷째, 견인의 주체에 대해 도르트 신경의 성도의 견인 교리 조항들은 하나님의 주권적 측면을 크게 강조하면서도 신자의 책임성으로서의 인내를 함께 제시한다.
Abstract
In this paper, we attempted to grasp the characteristics of the doctrine of ‘the perseverance of the saints’(PS) in the Canons of the Dort by comparing them with PS in modern systematic theology and the Westminster Confession of Faith. The findings are as follows. First, the articles of PS in the Canons of the Dort includes the doctrine of sanctification, decree, repentance, and assurance in addition to PS. Second, the first half of the articles of the doctrine of PS in the Canons of the Dort presents the preservation of God and PS while dealing with a lot of on sanctification. Third, the latter half of the articles of the doctrine of PS in the Canons of the Dort presents PS while dealing with mainly assurance. Fourth, regarding the subject of perseverance, the doctrine of PS in the Canons of the Dort strongly emphasizes the sovereign aspect of God, while presenting perseverance as the responsibility of the believer.
