개혁파 교회에 대한 츠빙글리의 기여를 논의하기 위해서 그의 생애를 간단히 논의하여 그가 어떤 배경 가운데서 교회 개혁 운동을 하여 가게 되었는지를 밝히고, (1) 연속적 성경 읽기와 강해 전통의 회복, (2) 자국어로 하는 예배의 시도와 정착, (3) 바른 종교와 그릇된 종교에 대한 명확한 구별의 노력, (4) 예배당 안의 상들의 제거, (5) 정규적 성경 공부 모임으로서의 소위 예언 모임의 시작을 츠빙글리의 기여로 제시하였다. 그 후에 (1) 성찬 이해가 영적 임재설에 가까우면서도 오해할만한 표현을 사용하여 간 것, (2) 예배 중에 회중 찬송을 허락하지 않은 것, (3) 국가와 교회의 관계를 너무 밀접히 제시한 것, (4) 마리아의 영원한 동정녀성을 지속적으로 인정한 것, (5) 때때로 지나친 주해로 건전한 해석을 벗어난 것, (6) 목자라는 용어를 선호하면서도 사제라는 용어를 온전히 제거하지 못한 것이 문제가 된다고 지적하였다.
Abstract
In this paper, after presenting Zwingli’s life, I showed that the following five points can be mentioned as the contributions of Zwigli to the Reformed Church: (1) The recovering the early church’s tradition of lectio continua, (2) the recovering of the original tradition of worshiping in one’s own language, rather than in Latin, (3) the attempt to differentiate the right religion and the wrong religion, (4) the abolition of the images in the church buildings, and (5) beginning of the so–called prophesying as the regular study of the Scriptures of the preachers and the congregation. I also pointed out that in relation to the following 6 points there were some problems in Zwingli’s understanding of Christianity: (1) his use of too strong and non-proper language which could be easily misunderstood, even though there were spiritual presence view in Zwingli’s understanding of the Lord’s supper, (2) his disapproval of the congregational Hymns in the worship service, (3) his implication that there was no separation between the State and the Church, (4) his acceptance of the eternal virginity of Mary, (5) some exegetical errors, and (6) his not getting rid of the term “priest.”
