사람이 하나님의 선택대상자를 알 수 있는가? 또는 알 수 없는가? 하는 것을 살피는 것이 본 논문의 핵심이다. 대부분의 칼빈주의 학자들은 칼빈의 『기독교강요』를 중심으로 알 수 없다는 견해를 견지한다. 칼빈도 그들처럼 양과 염소를 구분하는 것은 하나님의 일이며, 마지막 날에 일어날 것이며, 당신의 백성을 아는 일은 오직 심판자의 눈으로만 가능하다고 말한다. 그러나 칼빈은 그의 다른 저작에서 특별히 데살로니가전서 1:4-5, 베드로후서 1:10, 빌립보서 4:3의 주석 등에서는 사람이 하나님의 선택을 '어느 정도' 알 수 있다고 해설한다. 우리는 여기에서 혼란을 겪게 된다. 칼빈이 어떤 곳에서는 하나님의 선택을 알 수 없다고 말하는데, 다른 곳에서는 알 수 있다고 말하기 때문이다. 우리가 볼 때는 이것이 칼빈 안에 나타나는 충돌 또는 모순처럼 보이지만 과연 칼빈이 이를 모순으로 인식하는지를 살피고자 한다. 칼빈에게서 이러한 인식이 전체적으로 어떻게 나타나는지도 살펴보고자 한다. 이러한 인식은 교회론과 관련되어 있다. 특별히 교회의 본질에 있어서 가시적 교회와 불가시적 교회의 개념과 연결된다. 본 논문은 이러한 관계를 살피고 이에 대한 강조점을 어디에 두는지에 대해 밝히는데 있다.
Abstract
Can a person know God's elect? or don't know? It is the core of this thesis to look at what is being done. Most Calvinist scholars hold the view that it cannot be known through Calvin's Christian institutions. Calvin, like them, says that it is God's work to separate the sheep from the goats, and it will happen in the last days, and it is only through the eyes of the judge to know His people. However, Calvin explains in his other works, especially in the commentary on 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5, 2 Peter 1:10, and Philippians 4:3, that man can know 'whatever degree' of God's election. here We be confused. For Calvin says that in some places God's choice is unknown, whereas in other places he says it is. From our point of view, this appears to be a conflict or contradiction within Calvin, but we want to examine whether Calvin recognizes it as a contradiction. I would like to examine how this perception is expressed in Calvin as a whole. This perception is related to ecclesiology. Especially in the nature of the church, it is connected with the concepts of the visible and invisible church. This paper aims to examine these relationships and reveal where to place the emphasis on them.
